First of all; I've been a covert to styrofoam cases for several years now. They're feather-light, they're strong, they don't have hinges, clasps and aluminium channels to get banged up, go out of alignment and stop the case opening/ closing properly (they have a nice, smooth-actioned, chunky zip all the way round). That means they also don't have those sharp little tabs that stick down out of the latches that will stab your guitar's front/ soundboard when the lid accidentally drops down right when you're taking your guitar out, scarring your guitar for life. They're also not made of brittle ABS plastic which cracks and shatters, especially on the corners and where those metal dome feet are (which these thankfully don't have; they've got low profile rubber feet/ pads). They also offer almost as much protection as a hard case, to the point I've used them for flights before; they're MUCH stronger than you'd think they'd be. Now that I've sold you on styrofoam cases; of all the ones on the market THIS is the one you want. Why?! The other main one on the market is the one made by Artist. Now I'm not knocking Artist's gear (because they make good stuff and they're a great company), but having had both brands of styrofoam cases the HAZE is better because of the positioning of the handle. The positioning of the handles on the Artist-made one means the case tilts upward because of the uneven weight of the guitar in the case (heavier at the back). But the HAZE has handles that compensate for that and are positioned so that the case balances and is horizontal when being carried with a guitar in it, which is a much more comfortable carrying position. It's hard to explain verbally, but trust me, this is the one you want. The make-quality of both is very good but there's a couple of little areas where the HAZE does it slightly better; it's apparent that a bit more thought went into the HAZE product. If you haven't used a styrofoam case before and are unsure about it, just do it; you won't regret it. I'll never go back to big, heavy, cumbersome, waiting-to-break hard cases. Whether you want it for gigging, travel or long term storage, styrofoam cases are where it's at.
